Indian passport holders in Dubai now have a Sunday option for collecting their passports. This removes the need to wait until Monday if a completed document is ready over the weekend.
Alhind Global Services has introduced a Sunday passport collection counter from 10am to 12pm at all 16 Indian Consular Application Centres across the UAE. The update comes from reports by Gulf News and Khaleej Times.
For Dubai residents, that network covers both centres operated in the emirate, located in Bur Dubai and Dubai Investment Park I.
The benefit is straightforward. If you need to collect your passport, Sunday is now an option.
The main limitation is just as clear: you cannot submit a new application on Sunday.
Sunday is collection only
Gulf News reports that the new Sunday counter operates from 10am to noon. It is strictly dedicated to passport collection.
The centres remain otherwise closed on Sundays. Applicants should not arrive expecting to file applications for passports, visas, attestations, or other consular services.
Normal operations continue from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.
Gulf News, publishing on Monday, September 21, says the additional service began "last Sunday." That corresponds to Sunday, September 20, 2026. This is a newly operating service rather than a reminder about an old schedule.
Neither report outlines a separate Sunday collection-booking procedure. Applicants should follow their standard collection instructions and verify details on the official portal before travelling.
Both Dubai centres are included
The service applies across all 16 centres in the UAE. Both Dubai locations are included in this rollout.
The wider network also covers centres in other emirates across the UAE.
This is a collection change, not a relocation of consular operations. Alhind has operated the outsourced network since July 22, 2026. That followed a delayed rollout while Indian missions temporarily handled services directly.
Backlog reported as cleared
The Sunday counter arrives after an initial period of disruption for the outsourced system.
The July transition followed litigation surrounding the outsourcing tender. The early rollout brought long queues and document delays.
Both Gulf News and Khaleej Times now report that the earlier backlog has been cleared. Alhind confirmed that 100 per cent of backlogs have now been resolved and appointments are fully available.
What has not changed
The new Sunday counter does not change the core application procedure.
Routine applications continue through the 16 centres, with appointments booked online. Consular services are not submitted at embassy or consulate premises.
Do not mistake Sunday collection for general Sunday services. It is strictly limited to document pickup.
Before making a Sunday trip
Because the counter has just opened, confirm your collection readiness before making a trip.
Neither report indicates an extra fee for Sunday pickup. During rollout, Alhind offered a flat Dh19 fee covering its standard service package.
For residents whose passports are ready, the practical outcome is simple: the weekend no longer forces a wait until Monday.
