The UAE’s National Committee for Agentic Artificial Intelligence launched a unified guide on Friday, August 21, 2026. The Assistant AI Government Experience Design Guide sets common principles for federal entities. It is designed to help agencies build services around outcomes.
The guide was unveiled during a specialised workshop in the UAE. Officials and government service and AI teams from ministries and federal entities attended.
From Searching To Completion
Customers typically search for a service and identify the responsible government entity. They then check the requirements, submit information and documents, and follow the transaction.
Under the proposed model, customers can describe what they need in a conversation. An AI assistant would interpret the request and determine the required steps.
It would carry out those steps through government systems. It would also coordinate with relevant entities and follow the request until completion.
The approach aims to reduce the need for customers to understand which authority handles each part of a transaction. It also seeks to prevent entities from repeatedly requesting information already provided.
What Customers Should Receive
The guide calls for customers to receive updates about the steps being taken. They should also be told what has been completed and where further input is needed.
Privacy and security should be protected throughout the process. The framework also covers unified payment processes and a clear final outcome.
Customers should have a way to object to a decision or request corrections. In exceptional cases, an AI assistant should transfer the customer to a suitable employee.
The transition should include the request details and completed steps. This would mean the customer does not have to explain the same case again.
Measuring The Result
Mohammed Rashid bin Taliah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Government Knowledge Exchange, leads the Government Services Track of the Assistant AI project.
He said success should be measured by whether a service reaches the customer’s desired result. The guide therefore focuses on the full journey, from understanding a need to delivering a clear outcome.
It is intended to give federal entities a shared framework for redesigning services for AI-assisted delivery.
