Dubai Metro
Two lines, fully air-conditioned, 3-7.50 dirhams a trip on a Silver Nol card. The right choice for solo travellers and for the airport-to-Downtown leg.
Red Line and Green Line — covers the airport, Downtown, Marina and the old town in one ride.
Buy a Silver Nol card (25 dirhams, includes Dh19 of travel) from any station vending machine.
Trains run every 3-5 minutes weekdays, every 7-8 minutes Friday lunchtime.
Avoid the Gold (front) carriage by accident — the fare doubles silently at the gate.
Most malls give four hours free with a validating receipt; on-street parking is run by Parkin, priced by zone and time of day.
Dubai Mall: 14,000 free spaces, four hours free with any retail receipt over 100 dirhams.
On-street paid zones (Mon–Sat, 08:00–22:00) run about 4 dirhams/hour standard, up to 6 in premium zones at peak; pay via the Parkin app or mParking SMS. A 5% VAT applies.
Daily caps apply on most malls (Dh120 at Dubai Mall) — overnight parking is fine.
Validate before you leave — exit barriers accept Apple Pay but the manned booth queue is long.
