Tickets for Etihad Rail's Dubai-Abu Dhabi passenger service are on sale from Dh39 one way, ahead of the first trains on 30 September.

Comfort Class starts at Dh39 and Premium Class at Dh109, according to The National, Gulf News and Khaleej Times, which cite Etihad Rail's booking system. Bookings are open on Etihad Rail's website and mobile app.

That answers two practical questions around Dubai's first passenger rail station: what a ticket costs, and when services run.

The National reports the first Dubai-Abu Dhabi departure leaves Al Yalayis at 6:14am and arrives at Mohamed bin Zayed City Station at 7:18am, a 64-minute trip. Khaleej Times lists the same service at 6:15am, rounding to the nearest five minutes.

Five round trips are scheduled between Dubai and Abu Dhabi on the first day. The National says the last Dubai-originating train arrives in Abu Dhabi at 7:18pm, while the last Abu Dhabi-originating service reaches Dubai at 6:47pm.

Journey times versus the earlier 57-minute figure

Etihad Rail and earlier coverage had put the Dubai-Abu Dhabi journey at about 57 minutes. The first launch-day service in the booking system is seven minutes longer.

That does not mean the 57-minute figure has been withdrawn. Different departures can take different times, and the outlets checked do not explain the gap. For a real trip, use the time shown for the specific train you book.

Khaleej Times and The National also list one Dubai-Fujairah service for 30 September, lasting one hour and 10 minutes, with fares from Dh39.

What the Dh39 fare covers

Dh39 is a starting Comfort fare, not a flat price for every ticket. Etihad Rail sells Comfort and Premium cabins, with Saver, Value and Flex ticket types that carry different conditions, Khaleej Times reports.

According to Khaleej Times, Comfort includes Wi-Fi, charging points and a food and drink trolley. Premium adds wider reclining seats, extra legroom, refreshments and a quieter cabin.

Al Yalayis Station sits in Me'aisem First beside Jumeirah Golf Estates, near Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. Coverage describes a roughly 400-metre elevated pedestrian link to Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Red Line. Reports still differ on whether that link is already open, so Metro users should confirm with Etihad Rail or the RTA before travelling.

The practical change is clear: 30 September is no longer only a launch date. Fares, an initial timetable and live bookings are now available for Dubai residents.
