Flights from Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah kept running on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, but several regional services were cancelled and some long-haul arrivals ran late. Gulf News and Khaleej Times both urged passengers to check their airline app before leaving for the airport.

Air Arabia and flydubai cancelled a number of flights to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Emirates, Etihad and flydubai also showed revised departure times on some services. Schedules can change during the day, so the lists below are a snapshot rather than a guarantee.

Dubai International Airport

Flydubai cancelled Dubai–Abha (FZ815 and FZ816) and Dubai–Milan Bergamo (FZ1573 and FZ1574/EK2141), according to the airport flight-status board cited by Gulf News.

Revised departure times were showing for flydubai flights to Yerevan, Saint Petersburg, Tbilisi, Tel Aviv and Naples. Emirates delays from Dubai included EK008 to London Heathrow (7.55 pm pushed to 9.55 pm) and EK022 to Manchester (8.50 pm to 10.24 pm). SpiceJet services to Kochi, Mumbai and Jaipur were also delayed, as was Kenya Airways KQ310 to Nairobi.

Inbound, Khaleej Times reported longer waits on some India routes. SpiceJet SG5118 from Kochi was delayed by 13 hours. SG5113 from Mumbai was delayed by almost 10 hours, and SG5060 from Mumbai by more than five hours. An Emirates flight from Narita was cancelled after earlier schedule changes.

Abu Dhabi and Sharjah

At Zayed International Airport, Air Arabia cancelled Abu Dhabi–Kuwait 3L020 and Kuwait–Abu Dhabi 3L021. Etihad was still operating, though EY160 to Warsaw, EY078 to Manchester and some Air Arabia codeshares to Tbilisi and Baku showed later times.

From Sharjah, Air Arabia cancelled Sharjah–Abha, Sharjah–Bahrain, Sharjah–Kuwait and Sharjah–Jizan pairs, including G9195/G9196, G9107/G9108, G9068/G9124, G9069/G9125 and G9398/G9399.

US East Coast backlog

Emirates and Etihad told Khaleej Times their UAE–US flights were unaffected after a Federal Aviation Administration communications failure in Philadelphia disrupted East Coast airports on Monday. Newark saw more than 600 cancellations. Philadelphia, LaGuardia and JFK were also hit. US officials said the lines were repaired Monday evening, but knock-on delays were still clearing on Tuesday.

Gulf News noted that some of Tuesday's UAE cancellations may reflect ordinary operational issues as well as wider regional security concerns. Either way, the practical advice is the same: confirm your flight status with the airline before you travel, and allow extra time for check-in and security.
