Meta launched a new paid subscription service in the UAE called Meta One on Tuesday, offering optional upgrades across WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook starting at Dh5.99 a month. The technology company confirmed that the core experience across its family of apps and everyday access to Meta AI remain free for all users.
The suite brings together more than 50 features rolled out across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Meta AI, with further additions planned for products such as Edits and AI glasses. Globally, Meta said it has recorded more than 15 million subscriptions and trials across its paid tiers to date, noting that pricing and features can vary by region, app, and account.
Individual app tiers start at Dh5.99 per month for WhatsApp Plus, while Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus cost Dh7.99 each. WhatsApp Plus provides subscribers with exclusive themes, custom app icons, special-effect stickers, and additional pinned chats. Meta also plans to test chat and media backup storage along with Focus Schedules, which allow users to mute or hide chats on a set timetable.
Instagram Plus adds custom fonts for direct messages and Stories, notifications for specific Story viewers, and direct message previews. Facebook Plus introduces Messenger customisation settings, expanded Reels insights, and super reactions across Reels and Feed posts.
Bundles and Artificial Intelligence
Users seeking expanded artificial intelligence capabilities can select multi-app bundles. The Core bundle costs Dh22.99 a month, while the Premium plan is priced at Dh76.99.
These tiers provide higher usage limits for compute-intensive image and video generation through Meta AI, including tools like Instagram Restyle and voice effects. Meta noted that early testing showed more than half of bundle subscribers used both AI and expression features, citing tools like Restyle as key reasons for signing up.
Creator and Business Tools
For creators and commercial users, the Essential plan starts at Dh46.99 per month. The tier provides professional tools including enhanced profiles, while Meta indicated that subscriptions unlock specialised capabilities directly across its apps to support commercial workflows.
